On my 1995 corvette the digital speedometer reed out has a glitch.?
The other day I pulled out onto the street and the speedometer started reeding really high numbers, and the odometer doubled the number that was on there. I had the alternator checked, and it was fine.
Several possibilities. I have come across bad VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensors) and also a bad ECM can cause this. Problem is troubleshooting a intermittent issue.
